Written in collaboration with Swiss author Tim Krohn, the songs open a door into the most personal corners of Linn's life. They don't polish, they don't hide. For the first time, Linn sings not only in English but also in Swiss German and Standard German, expanding her musical language while staying true to the quiet intimacy at the heart of her work. The honesty of Skinny Songs reached far beyond Switzerland. After hearing the album, Nashville producer Dean Miller invited Martina Linn to record at the legendary The Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

There, together with an international band, she recorded The Sound Emporium Live Recordings completely live off the floor. Every musician performed together in the same room, capturing each song in real time. Rather than perfection, the sessions embraced presence, trust and the subtle dialogue between musicians, qualities that have always been at the heart of Martina Linn's music.
